Join us for Houston Africa Day, a dynamic, family-friendly celebration hosted by leading African organizations, including the African Public Affairs Committee and Culturally Yours. This annual cultural festival brings together over 1,000 guests at the Alief Community Center Park to honor African culture, history, and heritage. A Celebration of Culture, Unity, and Community Our theme, “Experience the Heartbeat of Africa in Houston!”, captures the spirit of connection. We aim to unite Houstonians through art, dance, fashion, and food while honoring the diversity of Africa’s 54 nations. This vibrant festival blends entertainment, education, and community building in one unforgettable experience. What to Expect at Houston Africa Day: Taste the Culture Enjoy authentic African cuisine at our food vendor booths, including a tasting session from The Art of Fufu. Live Performances Experience traditional and modern dance, drumming, and music from African community groups. Kids’ Zone Our Active Kids Zone offers soccer games, crafts, and fun, educational activities for children of all ages. Arts & Crafts Market Shop handmade jewelry, textiles, and visual art from African artisans and creators.  African Fashion Show Marvel at the beauty of traditional and contemporary African attire in our fashion displays. African Country Zones Explore informational booths representing African nations, sharing customs, flags, and cultural facts.
